HPMC is a nonionic cellulose mixed ether made from refined cotton after alkalization treatment, using propylene oxide and methane chloride as etherifying agent, through a series of reactions. It is always used for Wall Putty Powder, Tile Adhesive, Dry Mix Mortar, Skim Coat with features Good Water Retention, Anti-Slip, Longer Open Time, Better Workability, Easy Dissolution etc.
 
HPMC are ethers of cellulose and propylene oxide. It is easily soluble in cold water but not soluble in hot water. It is non-ionic cellulose ether and is compatible with many surfactants and polymers such as starch, guar and alginates. Solutions of HPMC are pseudoplastic, some solutions show thixotropy.
 
Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose polymers are well-known for their ability to bind, retain water, thicken, form films, and provide many other performance benefits.
