Construction grade hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose hpmc supplier
Hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose (HPMC) is a non-ionic cellulose used in building materials, which can be dissolved in hot or cold water to form a transparent solution with a specific viscosity.
Normally HPMC is widely used in dry-mixed mortar industry, ceramic tile binder, external insulation system, self-leveling mortar, plastering, putty, paint and so on, it can improve construction performance, water retention performance, bond strength and sagging resistance.
Product Properties:
1. Appearance: White or similar white powder, odorless and tasteless.
2. Particle size: 100 mesh pass rate is more than 98.5%, 80 mesh pass rate is more than 100%.
3. Carbonization temperature: 280-300 C.
4. Visual density: 0.25-0.70g/ (usually 0.5g/ or so), specific gravity 1.26-1.31.
5. Discoloration temperature: 190-200 C.
6. Surface tension: 20% aqueous solution is 42-56 dyn/cm.
7. Solubility: Soluble in water and some organic solvents, such as appropriate proportion of ethanol/water, propanol/water, dichloroethane, etc. Aqueous solution has surface activity, high transparency and stable performance. The gel temperature of different specifications of products is different, which is the thermal gelation property of
HPMC. The solubility varies with the viscosity. The lower the viscosity, the greater the solubility. The properties of HPMC with different specifications are different. The solubility of HPMC in water is not affected by the PH value.
8. HPMC decreased with the decrease of methoxy group, the gel point increased, the solubility of water decreased, and the surface activity also decreased.
9. HPMC also has the characteristics of thickening ability, salt removal, low ash content, PH stability, water retention, dimensional stability, excellent film-forming ability, extensive enzyme resistance, dispersibility and adhesion.

HPMC Packaging and Storage
A. Standard Packing: In 25kg paper bags inner with PE bags
B. Big Bag or other special packages are possible on request.
Store it in a cool, dry place below 30°C and protected against humidity and pressing, since the goods is thermoplastic, storage time should not exceed six months.
